REGULAR ANALYSIS OF TECHNICAL FLUIDS - SAVINGS ON OWNERSHIP AND OPERATION

The condition of technical fluids directly affects the performance of your machine. Regular checks of oil, coolant and fuel allow you to evaluate the condition of the equipment and avoid unexpected breakdowns and downtime.

With Cat® S•O•S Services our technicians can detect early wear, fluid contamination, and other “invisible” issues. You get a detailed and understandable report and recommendations for further actions.

CAT® S•O•S SERVICES BENEFITS:

  • Greater accuracy in predicting component failures before they happen: S•O•S Services is the world's largest fluid analysis program from a manufacturer with 50 years of experience.
  • Quick and reliable results with explanations: You will know very soon if your equipment is in danger of breaking down. Timely action can be taken to avoid costly repairs and downtime.
  • The program is applicable to a wide range of equipment types and manufacturers: all types of Cat® and other manufacturers’ products in a wide range of industries, not just construction equipment, but also cars, vans, park and garden equipment, yachts and recreational boats.
  • Increased productivity and profitability: Equipment health management helps reduce owning and operating costs.
  • Reduced repair time: by monitoring the hidden processes in the equipment (component wear, oil performance data, etc.), you can predict malfunctions in time, schedule replacement parts and servicing , check whether regular maintenance is carried out according to the schedule.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF LIQUID ANALYSIS

Oil analysis

A comprehensive analysis of the lubrication systems of engines, transmissions, hydraulics, final drives, differentials, gearboxes and compressors allows you to notice the early signs of wear on metal parts. It also detects the presence of contaminants such as water, fuel, glycol, and dust that negatively affect performance.

Coolant Analysis

Overheating the coolant can cause enormous damage. The chemical composition of the coolant shows whether it can provide maximum protection and efficient cooling. The correct use, condition, protection against freezing and boiling, the amount and composition of impurities are assessed. Either a testing of standard fluid characteristics or a deeper and more complete analysis is possible at your choice.

How to Sample Technical Fluids

One sample can only show serious and obvious problems: excessive wear of components, excessive contamination of the oil by foreign particles, water or fuel ingress into the oil. The full picture can be seen by taking samples from the three main components of the machine: the hydraulic system, engine and transmission.

The recommended sampling interval is every 250 hours. The results of the study are evaluated taking into account the number of hours worked by the equipment since the last oil change.

For sampling a special device is used, which you can purchase at any service center of Amur Machinery LLC.

The analysis is carried out on the basis of the service center of Amur Machinery LLC in Khabarovsk, which is accomplished by modern laboratory equipment in accordance with international standards and Caterpillar requirements.

For questions regarding the analysis under the S•O•S Services program (schedule for analysis, sampling, etc.), please contact the nearest service center of Amur Machinery LLC.
